Ever wanted your own quadrocopter? Well now you can! The Crazyflie is an open source nano quadcopter kit designed for flexible development. Weighing only 19 grams and measuring 9 cm motor to motor, Crazyflie Nano can be classified as one of the smallest SUAV in the world. You can control it with a standard PS2 joystick connected to a PC or even with a smartphone.
Three young men, Arnaud Taffanel,Tobias Antonsson and Marcus Eliasson, worked on a miniaturized UAV in Epsilon Embedded Systems company as a part of an educational project Daedalus. The results were so satisfactory, that the trio decided to open pre-orders for only 173$!

However, there’s a little disadvantage – you have to build it on your own. Therefore, you will need a soldering iron and some smart hands. This obstacle resulted in several internet discussions and maybe even in a little popularity loss. In response to potential objections about the need for soldering iron Antonsson writes:
We don’t have a solution for that right now, sorry. In the future though there might be a fully assembled version. Maybe you can find someone close by that can help you? Also buying your own soldering iron is an option. It doesn’t have to be a fancy one.
